Why I'm Running

I would like to continue to serve my community and the district where I attended school from K-12 and where I worked for 42 years. My years of experience have given me an understanding of the diversity of our district and the needs of each community within the district. As a longtime resident of Trustee Area 1, I know the strengths and needs of my community.

I frequently visit the 15 elementary, intermediate, and high schools in my trustee area. It is important for me to know the principal, staff, students, and parents. This has given me invaluable knowledge of how each of these schools operate, what makes each unique, what is important to them, and what they need.

I know that the decisions the Board makes affect the entire district and that it is important for me to have a relationship with various schools and parents throughout the district so that I can bring their voice to the table. I have been able to interact with parents by attending various meetings: District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC), Parent Leadership Academy, Gate District Advisory Committee, School Re-Opening Task Force, Choose Wellness Workshops, Special Education District Advisory Committee, and PTA Council.

Experience, accessibility and the ability to solve problems are critical during these uncertain times. If re-elected, I will continue my work as your trustee, ensuring that GGUSD continues its record of motivating students to attain the academic and social skills needed for lifelong success.

I believe that I have the knowledge and experience needed to do the best job. I have worked collaboratively with my fellow Board members and our Superintendent to make sure that our district is doing what is best for our kids. I tackle problems with an open mind and I’m willing to seek multiple points of view in order to resolve any concerns. I humbly ask for your vote.
